The Daily Sabah recently caught up with Ben Affleck to talk about his role as Bruce Wayne / Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, and in the interview they asked if he’d be back as Batman in future DC films. While Affleck didn’t say he would, he did say that he would like to direct a Batman film.

“For me, it’s interesting, and I always evaluate this stuff on the merit of the material,” Affleck told Daily Sabah. “I want to direct a “Batman” movie, and I never got a script that I was happy with, so they are starting over and writing another script. And right now, I think a lot of different possibilities I think for the way the DC Universe could go, and I will just follow my interests in pursing that. And I know that I love working with this group of people, and it was a real joy for me to make this movie.”

A couple of weeks ago, Variety reported that changes are coming to DC Films following Justice League’s underperformance at the box office, and in that piece they noted that Affleck isn’t expected to star in Matt Reeves’ The Batman movie. Instead, he’s expected to appear in The Flash movie.
